" A Better Tomorrow (英雄本色) is the best-known Hong Kong film of all time, at least, for many in Asia." That may be a bold statement, but not necessarily a hyperbolic one.


Ranked as the second on the list of Best 100 Chinese Motion Pictures by Hong Kong Film Award in 2005, the 1986 film spread its profound influence in not only Hong Kong, but also many parts of Asia; guys started to wear long dusters and Alain Delon sunglasses to resemble the main characters, and a series of movies imitated the style of the film; it opened up the prime of Hong Kong film industry in the 80s and 90s.


Once globally immense, the influence of Hong Kong films these days is not at its peak.
